Passenger flow control system (Spain)

AENA: Lanzarote Airport (2012) & Barcelona Airport (2013)

Focusing on the processes in which the passenger participates and on the flows that are followed throughout the different areas of the terminal building, AERTEC has designed a tool to measure and control the average waiting time in queues.

This system has been designed to control the passenger flows in an airport terminal, in real time. The system is based on different types of counting devices, that via Bluetooth and thermal imaging technology, allow the number of people in different areas to be counted.

Therefore, via a simple set of operations and a specific algorithm, the behaviour of the passenger flows can be predicted depending on a determined set of conditions.
