AERTEC Solutions has recently expanded its facilities and offices in Madrid in order to improve its services for the aerospace industry in said region, especially the Airbus Group. The new site doubles the company’s former facilities in Madrid in size and is equipped with the latest communications, energy saving and energy efficiency technologies.
The new site in Getafe situated next to the main Airbus facilities in Spain has been inaugurated. More specifically, it is located in the La Carpetania Business Park, located in the area delimited by the A-4, M-50 and R-4 motorways. Other significant companies specialising in the Spanish aerospace industry are likewise located in this business park.
The new AERTEC Solutions site doubles the company’s former facilities in Madrid in size, which are located in Barajas and have a surface area of 300 square metres. The offices have enough space to host a total of 30 work stations and are equipped with the latest energy saving and efficiency technologies. They have been granted a LEED certification, the most stringent certification for sustainable, environmentally-friendly buildings. Their infrastructures include several individual offices, meeting rooms, a server room and an office kitchen.
The inauguration of these new offices aims to provide the company with better work space, the most innovative communications technologies geared at providing a technological response and proximity to its aerospace industry clients and partners, particularly the Airbus Group. They will also enable collaboration with the European aeronautics group to be strengthened and provide the company with larger facilities for any possible increases in work load arising from its existing contracts.
AERTEC Solutions has been chosen by Airbus as a preferential manufacturing engineering services provider (ME3S) for its civil aircraft and will be in charge of providing its know-how and experience in industrialisation, manufacturing support and assembly activities, as well as in other design and production support tasks, mainly for the A350, A380, A320 and A330 programmes.
The contract sets forth the performance by AERTEC Solutions of engineering services at Airbus plants in the United Kingdom and Spain. The company will therefore work with the Getafe factory in Madrid by providing its engineering services to the plant’s manufacturing process, tooling and automation systems, in addition to managing the work and transferring technical specifications to other of Airbus’s subcontractors and ancillary companies.
