AERTEC trusts that reactivating the Centre of Excellence of Unmanned Systems (CEUS) project in the province of Huelva, will definitively result in the construction of facilities that will be key for the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) sector in the region.
AERTEC develops and manufactures the TARSIS UAS from start to finish entirely in Andalucía. These are fixed wing aerial platforms for civil and military observation and surveillance operations.
AERTEC, which designs its own light, tactical UAS with proprietary technology such as the TARSIS 75 and TARSIS 25 joins the interest shown by other large companies to certify their unmanned aircraft at the Center for Excellence of Unmanned Systems (CEUS).
According to Pedro Becerra, AERTEC Corporate Director of Aerospace & Defence, “The new future runway that will be home to CEUS for large-scale fixed-wing aircraft operations will be strategic, not only to certify new capabilities of our TARSIS unmanned aerial platforms, but also so Andalucía can host European programmes such as Eurodrone or FCAS (Future Combat Air System), thanks to unique infrastructures such as those involved in this project.”
AERTEC has been collaborating with the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA) for several years, mainly at the El Arenosillo Testing Center (CEDEA), where it conducts flight tests with its TARSIS unmanned aerial platforms. “The creation of the CEUS (testing) centre will equip INTA with very interesting additional capabilities that will allow a wide range of operations and tests in a segregated air space that is over 200 km with no altitude limit for operating,” affirms Becerra. Specifically, AERTEC is planning operations and new technological solutions for its TARSIS, in collaboration with Spain’s Ministry of Defence. The additional capabilities of CEUS will be “absolutely necessary” for future demonstrations that will accompany certification of its UAS solutions.
For years, AERTEC’s UAS products and solutions have been authorised and certified for both civil and military operations. They have been declared to be of interest for defence and deemed the highest performers in their category.
AERTEC has collaborated with Spain’s National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA) for several years, mainly at the El Arenosillo Test Center (CEDEA), where it performs tests and flight campaigns with its UAS products.
The CEUS testing centre will complement the unique capabilities that CEDEA already offers, and that already position Andalucía as a leading region in the UAS flight test phase.
AERTEC, therefore, is committed to the CEUS project as a strategic enclave, and joins the interest shown by other large companies to certify its unmanned aircraft at this future centre.
