AERTEC Solutions points out Latin America as one of the main markets with the highest growth potential in the airport sector.

AERTEC Solutions, a multinational consultancy and engineering firm specialised in airports, aerospace industry and air transportation, has pointed out Latin America as one of the airport markets with greater growth potential for the next decades, according to what the aviation director, Carlos Berenguer, said in an infrastructure and energy international meeting that has been held the days 9 and 10 of September in Bogota (Colombia).

The main challenge is not only by carrying out the required investments but also by offering quality services to the future customers.

The company was invited to participate and to talk in the event “9th South America Infrastructure & Energy Summit”, one of the most outstanding meeting points and business forums carried out in Colombia and Latin America. It has gathered, on this occasion, the main companies, institutions and people of the infrastructure, engineering and energy sector of the South American continent. AERTEC Solutions has been the chosen company to approach the situation of the airport market and its future challenges at this congress.

At the conference, titled “Challenges for the airport development in South America”, Carlos Berenguer emphasised on the opportunity this market represents to continue developing the airport sector: “it is already being favoured with the intense change this market is experiencing in several countries in the recent years. It will be even greater in the future given the 6% increase the air transport has foreseen for the continent in the following 20 years.

In this regard, he indicated that “the main challenge to fulfil the demand and to continue with the strong development the airport sector in Latin America is experiencing is not only by carrying out the required investments in order to have new and modern infrastructure that cover the demand, but also by offering quality services to the future customers, creating safe and comfort spaces”. In his speech, Berenguer has given as example of the sector’s development some of the projects carried out along the continent in which AERTEC Solutions has collaborated, regarding the creation and improvement of the facilities at the airports of Bogota (Colombia), Lima (Peru), and Santiago (Chile), that will have a remarkable growth in the next years.

In conclusion, the aviation director of AERTEC Solutions pleaded for the states and governments in Latin America to continue the strategy of airport project concession like in the recent years, “with open processes that contribute to the liberalization of the aviation market which are the best guarantee in the midterm to assure the sector’s future”. “This does not only implement the growth of the demand and its suitable answer in services and infrastructures, but also, and most important, it is obtaining a great economic impact on the cities and regions of several countries, and consequently, a benefit for the society”.

The “9th South America Infrastructure & Energy Summit” is an event organized by the BNamericas companies, specialised in business meetings and forums of different industrial and technological sectors. It counts with the support of several companies as well as financial and business institutions from Colombia and other countries of Latin America. In the summit, top executives and managers of the largest companies of construction, engineering, logistic and transports, financial and manufacturing suppliers of services, concessionaires, financial institutions and equipment manufacturers have participated. Among some of the public institutions attending the summit were the Colombian National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), the National Airport Authority of Peru (APN Peru), the Investments and Exports Promotion Institute of Uruguay, or the Metro de Santiago (Chile) and Bogota and Medellin (Colombia).
