Technology for connected cabins and aircraft electrification

AERTEC offers a wide range of technological solutions focused on aircraft electrification and improved connectivity, reflecting its commitment to the Zero Emissions aviation challenge for 2050.

Aircraft Interior Expo it is the main international trade fair dedicated to showcasing the latest developments, advances and trends in aircraft interior design and equipment. In its 2023 edition, 400 exhibitors from around the world are gathered in Hamburg, including AERTEC.

The international company specialising in aerospace technology will present its complete portfolio from stand 6C80/A Services and developments focused on improving aircraft connectivity. Its continuous innovation within the framework of MEA conceptMore Electric Aircraft), which has led it to position itself as one of the leading specialised engineering firms in design and development of intelligent and dynamic power distribution solutions for aircraft, and which contribute to the Zero Emissions 2050 challenge. This is the case of the development of an electric power controller with solid-state technology and components capable of reaching 540 VDC, which distributes high-voltage power on board the aircraft, with the aim of continuing to increase this direct current voltage to higher levels. Its ability to operate at 540 VDC allows for greater energy efficiency and a significant reduction in energy losses compared to traditional power distribution systems. This translates to greater flight range, which is crucial for both commercial airlines and military aircraft. It also ensures a safer and more reliable power distribution. By using a higher continuous voltage, the risk of power supply failures is minimised, and system stability is improved. Furthermore, its Modular design and its real-time monitoring capability allow for quick identification and resolution of problems, which helps to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

AERTEC is one of the few Spanish companies specialising in the development of innovative embedded systems.. A specialisation that extends to the areas of avionics, certifiable embedded software, and guidance, navigation and control systems. AERTEC applies advanced avionics hardware/software concepts for the development of on-board computers, data concentrators and operational software based on IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) for critical aircraft systems. It also designs and develops new wireless connectivity systems for the management and distribution of data generated by next-generation IoT modules distributed throughout the aircraft or other cabin sensors.

technological developments of AERTEC are aimed at the integration and greater use of technology in the cockpit, responding to the concept of disruptive cockpit. In this respect, international engineering is advancing in the digitisation as a means to facilitate and make the tasks of all professionals safer involved in the flight of an aircraft, through their participation in the European project AS-DISCO (Audio Suite for Disruptive Cockpit DemonstratorWhose primary objective is to digitalise the management of audio communications between the crew and ground staff, up until now managed manually by pilots. AERTEC has responded to this technological challenge by designing Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) software, following the ARINC653 standard, which includes all the necessary functionalities for the automation of cockpit procedures through the integration of innovative solutions for man-machine interfaces (HMI) and software-defined radio (SDR).

For 5 years AERTEC has an office in Hamburg, from which manufacturing engineering and advanced air mobility electrical systems projects are managed and significant R&D&I activity is developed.
