AERTEC Solutions presented the balance sheet for the financial year 2015

AERTEC Solutions, the international engineering and consulting firm specialising in airports, the aerospace industry and defence, strengthen its international market projection with a new quantitative and qualitative leap during 2015. The company closed the last financial year with a turnover of 22 million euros, which represented an increase of 30% compared to 2014 (17 million euros), thus confirming the growth of its business in the sector in recent years.

In 2015, AERTEC Solutions also reinforced its commitment to the innovation and development of its own technology, another of the company's fundamental values, alongside internationalisation.

This highlights the consolidation of its international turnover, which reaches €5.5 million and already represents 25%of its total revenue, a percentage that is even much higher in the case of its airports division, where the share of business in this specific field exceeds 70%.

This growth and projection in foreign markets was underpinned in 2015 by the development of new projects in new countries, This has resulted in a global figure of 26 countries where projects have been undertaken, spread across five continents, and exceeding a hundred airports with our own references.

“100 airports is a symbolic figure that highlights the international vocation with which this company was born almost two decades ago,” states Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, the company's CEO.

Aeronautical engineering and consulting too increased its workforce last year to over 500 employees, 23% more than in 2014 (when it had 390 employees), most of them engineers and professionals in high qualification. This increase in staff was motivated by the growth in the project portfolio across the company's three business areas: airports, the aeronautical industry, and aerospace and defence systems.

In 2015, AERTEC Solutions also strengthened its Commitment to innovation and the development of proprietary technology, another of the company's fundamental values, alongside internationalisation. Thus, it allocated 1.5 million euros to R&D investment, thereby doubling the budget allocated to this area over the last two years. As a result of this commitment to innovation, its Aerospace and Defence Systems division emerged, and has already begun to carry out work for several international clients.

Among the main milestones of the past financial year are the contracts secured in Latin America for the airport sector, such as the project for the design of the new flight field at Lima Airport in Peru; projects in Colombia for the new master plan of Rionegro Airport in Medellín; or the consultancy for the design of improvements to the flight field at Cali Airport for its safety certification. Last year, the company also presented its unmanned aerial platform for the defence sector, TARSIS, at the “Paris Air Show” in Paris and the “EXPODENSA” defence exhibition in Bogotá. TARSIS is a high-tech, lightweight tactical RPA designed for observation and surveillance applications. Finally, in the aeronautical industry, it is worth highlighting the start of sustained operations with Airbus UK by its manufacturing engineering division in Broughton and the participation, as a partner, in the programme. Future of the Aircraft Factory - FoAF alongside industry leaders in the UK sector.

In the institutional sphere, AERTEC Solutions received, last year, the Medal of Andalusia for their excellence and business track record in the development of their activity. A recognition that its founders extended to the entire Andalusian aerospace sector, as a key sector for the future of the Andalusian economy.

“AERTEC Solutions' objectives for 2016 will focus on to boost our aeronautical specialisation and the development of proprietary technology, within the company's three areas of knowledge, with global reach. We have the know-how ”and the necessary capabilities to continue growing in a sector, the aeronautical one, whose demand and drive will continue to rise in the coming years,” says Antonio Gómez-Guillamón.'.

At Airports, the company's strategy will focus on increase the international client portfolio, with particular attention to Latin America and the Middle East. In the Aeronautical Industry, the objective is to increase presence in countries where Airbus is present (of which AERTEC Solutions is a supplier Category 1 in engineering services), particularly in the UK, France, and Germany. Furthermore, in this area, we will focus on complementing manufacturing engineering services with proprietary technology to help optimise production processes, aligned with the new concept of Factory of the Future or Factory 4.0 what is being developed globally. Lastly, in the area of Aerospace and Defence Systems, the company will seek to consolidate its new technological developments with new onboard mission and guidance systems for its own-design unmanned aerial platforms.
