AERTEC Solutions unveils augmented reality-based MRO assistance system

AERTEC Solutions, international engineering specialising in aeronautics, attend the 52nd edition of the international fair Paris Air Show 2017, which will be held in Le Bourget from 19 to 25 June. As it did in 2015, the company will attend with its own stand located in the Spanish Pavilion (Hall1, Stand G326).

AERTEC Solutions will present its latest technological developments designed to optimise their wide range of engineering services for the aircraft industrial cycle, notable among which are their expertise in industrial and manufacturing engineering; production coverage, planning and control; programme and project management; test systems engineering; tooling and quality control services.

This is a remote assistance system based on augmented reality that is fully compatible and adaptable to the client's own technology.

Specifically, AERTEC Solutions will present at Paris Air Show a Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) assistance system which solves the need for technical support in aeronautical plants in real time and remotely, through augmented reality and from any authorised mobile device. The solution allows the operator to video conference, via a tablet or smartphone, with a team of AERTEC Solutions experts to complete a scheduled or unforeseen task without the need for a physical presence.

The system will allow, simultaneously, parameterise and classify the tasks in an information system that will record them for quick identification should they recur in the future. The registration of this data will allow for its subsequent analysis with the aim of obtaining information that helps to optimise the times and costs of aeronautical production. “At AERTEC Solutions, we call this Socialisation of Knowledge. ”Thanks to the globalisation of information, it will be possible for an expert from our staff who is located, for example, in the USA, to manage a task that is being carried out at a European aeronautical plant," states Rafael Márquez, Director of the Aerospace Systems Area at AERTEC Solutions.

This system is fully compatible with the client's own technology, all that is needed is a mobile device or augmented reality glasses to connect. During the Paris Air Show, AERTEC Solutions will be holding various demonstrations at its stand to show how its solution works, allowing potential clients to see it firsthand. A delegation from the Regional Government of Andalusia, led by the Director General of Industry, Energy and Mines, Natalia González, and the Director General of the IDEA agency, Antonio González Marín, will attend the presentation.

The company implemented a similar system for airports, called ATIKA, which also allowed passengers to connect via video conference with airport personnel to resolve any doubts or queries. The positive results stemming from its application prompted AERTEC Solutions to extrapolate it to the aerospace industry, in a clear example of synergy between the company's areas of specialisation.
