AERTEC participates in the expansion of the airfield at Lima Airport

 

AERTEC has taken another step in its international growth process with the award of a contract consisting of New flight field design from Jorge Chávez International Airport, Lima (Peru).

The project, in which AERTEC will work alongside engineering firms Arcadis and Ramboll, and English architects Grimshaw, is part of the process of airport modernisation and expansion operated by Lima Airport Partners (LAP), a subsidiary of the German airport operator Fraport AG. Through this project, Lima's Jorge Chávez International Airport aims to adapt its facilities to meet demand until the end of the concession/ over the next 15 years, as well as position itself to become a major Hub international for all of South America.

Video101-Lima-cberenguerThe work package that AERTEC will develop will focus on the design of the airfield expansion, which includes a second runway parallel to the current one, the apron for the new terminal building and the taxiway network to connect these infrastructures with the existing ones. The Spanish firm will also be responsible for design of all associated aeronautical systems, among which are found the aid design For runways and taxiways, lighting systems, fuel supply and apron guidance, and the electrical supply system necessary for these facilities.

With this new contract, AERTEC is expanding its presence in Latin America, where it has been carrying out engineering and consultancy projects in recent years in countries such as Colombia, Panama, Brazil and Chile, in addition to Peru.
