Presentation of the 2016 balance sheet

 

AERTEC Solutions has closed the 2016 fiscal year with a turnover of 23.8 million euros and references for international projects in 40 countries, representing an increase of 8% and 53% respectively in business volume and the number of markets in which it is present. An evolution that Consolidate the growth trend of recent years, as well as their determined international orientation, which has allowed the volume of foreign business to represent 25% of the company's total and 75% of its airport revenue.

Specifically, In the airport area, 2016 saw the completion of projects in 14 new markets in which the company had not been present until now, with a sprint finalisation of new projects in areas such as Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, the Philippines or Colombia. The most notable airport projects developed during 2016 were the expansion of the Charleroi Brussels South Airport terminal, designed by AERTEC Solutions and inaugurated last December, and the concession for the structuring of the new Colombian El Dorado 2 airport, in Bogotá.

In the Aerospace systems area, 2016 saw a highly relevant milestone for the company: the first flight of its unmanned aerial platform intended for the defence sector, TARSIS 75, which has already been presented at major industry trade fairs such as ADM Seville or UNVEX in Spain, EXPODEFENSA in Colombia, or Farnborough in the United Kingdom, and will also be showcased in the coming days at HOMSEC 2017, the international security technologies exhibition holding its sixth edition in Madrid in March. This is a high-tech, lightweight tactical unmanned aircraft (UAV/RPAS), designed for observation and surveillance applications, which AERTEC Solutions has incorporated into its portfolio of aerospace and defence systems.

In the Aerospace industry sector, the company complements its services with In-house technological solutions aimed at optimising engineering, manufacturing and assembly processes and improving efficiency and safety, through automation, simulation of production environments, remote assistance, and haptic environments.

diversification and the launch of new technological developments were possible, for another year, thanks to the R&D investment, which remained at €1.5 million last year.

Furthermore, during 2016, aeronautical engineering and consulting again increased its number of employees, specifically by 5%, thus maintaining its workforce above 500, the majority of them highly qualified engineers and professionals. This increase in staff was driven by the growth in the project portfolio across the company's three business areas: airports, the aeronautical industry, and aerospace and defence systems.
