Dual innovation: Vehicles that fly and roll (and II)

Further to infographics which we published a few months ago, on this occasion we include the second part of the evolution of hybrid vehicles, which drive and fly.

As we have already explained, from the early 20th century there were many initiatives to create versatile vehicles that could travel on the road and take to the air at any given moment. This trend has declined in recent years, mainly due to the impetus of a large number of initiatives focused on electric propulsion aircraft.

The slow development of certification processes and the technological adaptation required to implement them have delayed these initiatives in recent months. In fact, some of them have not withstood the wait as well as investor pressure, but several are still moving forward.

Although many believe that these kinds of devices are inherent to the extraordinary development achieved in recent years by aeronautics, the truth is that it is not something new, as we were able to see in the previous infographics (see).

In this new infographic, we look back at the most relevant flying car prototypes from the 1970s of the last century to the dawn of the 21st century.
