TARSIS flight campaign in segregated airspace

TARSIS 75the light tactical unmanned aircraft with high performance, designed and manufactured by AERTEC, has carried out a testing campaign under airspace segregation and NOTAM by ENAIRE in coordination with Defence, with the novelty of conducting it in civilian facilities, such as those of the ATLAS Flight Test Centre (located in Villacarrillo, Jaén).

The tests have focused on signals broadcast to air traffic control and the functioning of satellite communications.

This campaign has included flights beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) and others more complex like Flight roof, transponder signal tracking and satellite communications, in an expanded airspace compared to that normally used, and authorised by the Air Force. These are unusual circumstances given that the ATLAS centre is a civilian facility. To obtain the relevant flight authorisations for the TARSIS 75, coordination was necessary between ENAIRE, the airspace management body, the Air Force, which is responsible for authorising operations in military-use airspace, and the ATLAS centre.

These operations have been used to carry out checks on both the signals emitted to air traffic control by the transponder integrated into the TARSIS 75, and on the functioning of satellite communications in the event of radio communication loss.

The AERTEC Solutions TARSIS75 RPAS holds Experimental Airworthiness Certificates from both AESA (civil) and INTA (Defence), allowing it to manage flight authorisations through the approval of corresponding Feasibility and Safety Studies.

The TARSIS 75 unmanned aerial platform, alongside the TARSIS 25 version, is one of the most innovative projects by those backed by the international technology company specialising in aeronautics and defence, AERTEC, which develops the entire lifecycle of these carbon fibre-made RPAS comprehensively, from design and creation to final assembly and integration.
