AERTEC, the international technology and engineering company specialising in technologies applied to aeronautics, is coordinating the European IMASAT projectIntegrated Modular Avionics for Small Air Transport) in a consortium with Clue Technologies, Andalusian startup specialising in the development of avionics systems.
The aim of the research is Define and implement the concept of integrated modular avionics (I am, Integrated Modular Avionics) for small air transport (SAT) aircraft, Small Air Transport) on aircraft with between 6 and 19 passengers. The aim is for the European aviation industry to adopt fly-by-wire systems (FBW) for reducing the weight of avionics systems, reducing maintenance operations, and improving safety by also enhancing the human-machine interface, and automatically assisting in stabilising the aircraft.
The IMASAT project aims to respond to one of the initiative's objectives Clean Sky 2, the most important European research programme for the development of technology that improves the competitiveness of the aeronautical industrial sector, and which is to revitalise the SAT market by encouraging application of new and cost-effective technologies in the area of systems for a future next-generation small transport aircraft. The research for this project focuses on the design, manufacturing and qualification of a new computing node suitable for use for flight control in this segment of SAT air transport, rethinking the architecture, design, software, production and certification of a new integrated modular avionics concept.
AERTEC is leading the IMASAT project, in partnership with Clue Technologies, a specialist in the manufacture of electronic systems for the aerospace industry. Both Málaga-based companies are part of the Aerospace systems cluster of the Andalusia Technology Park.
AERTEC is a Core Partner of Clean Sky 2, participating in the PASSARO project. In this case, the objective is to demonstrate, using representative prototypes of aero-structures, both cabin and wing, the applicability of a set of innovative technologies in the design, manufacturing, and ground testing phases.
