A climate portal at the airport

No cabe duda de que uno de los factores que más nos pueden llegar a No cabe duda de que uno de los factores que más nos pueden llegar a disquiet during our stay at an airport, it is the weather we will encounter at our destination. It is a key moment to ask ourselves the usual questions about whether we have chosen our luggage well or if, on the contrary, we will be too hot or too cold.

climate-portal-02A few days ago, the Arlanda Airport, in Stockholm (Sweden), decided to relieve passengers of these annoying doubts. To do this, they have installed some “Climate-controlled cabins”in which passengers can enter and experience for themselves The climate of your destination city.

Indeed, there are three cubicles that have been named “the climate portal.” In them, the passenger can select the city they are flying to. The cubicles' computer contacts an online weather service and obtains the main weather parameters in real time In that city. Next, inside the cabin, the same feeling of temperature, humidity, and air is reproduced that the passenger will experience upon disembarking from the plane.

The most immediate consequence is the passenger's satisfaction upon observing that their luggage choice was the correct one. However, others will realise that they made a mistake in their choice of clothing. This latter passenger has two options: they can spend the rest of the trip sobbing, or, conversely, enter one of the airport's own shops to remedy such an annoying situation.

climate-portal-04There's no doubt that airports are doing an increasing and more specialised use of the alternatives it offers you Technology. Some proposals may seem a little atypical or bizarre, like this one we're discussing. But surely a good number of people will view initiatives positively, such as Arlanda's climate cabins, which allow them to have a more relaxed flight knowing that their suitcase simply contains what it's supposed to contain.
