Gamification

Perhaps many of the young readers of this blog will recognise these terms from the Cretaceous period, but others of us grew up with these machines in our hands, enjoying ourselves like kids with our first contact with the digital age and dreaming of one day becoming great video game creators.

The technology exists and is affordable, content creators are experts, and the applications are unlimited.

Today we live surrounded by video games, from the simplest one that allows us to demonstrate our driving skills and obtain a medical certificate that allows us to renew our driving licence to powerful flight simulators Digital adventures that take us back to the 18th century to be a part of the French Revolution in the first person.

Few areas of life today remain untouched by this trend. One of them, until relatively recently, has been the world of industry for which the term has recently been coined Gamification, defined as the fact of Apply design techniques and animation dynamics specific to video games for purposes not strictly recreational with the aim of solve real problems.

In the first instance, industry did not appear to be particularly receptive towards these types of techniques, perhaps because the benefits of applying them in productive processes were not adequately visualised, or perhaps due to the proponent's fear of appearing naive or informal in front of their colleagues and clients.

Increasingly, this initial reservation is being overcome and the Gamification it is introduced to the world of industry in general, and aeronautics and astronautics in particular. Certainly The results are immediate In training for repetitive tasks, in tasks requiring a high degree of precision, in those where rapid decisions need to be made or where their high economic cost leaves no room for error, and of course, it is also applicable in activities such as e-learning, motivation, or teamwork.
