The most important defence fair in the MENA region was held in Abu Dhabi in the last week of February. (Middle East and North AfricaThe IDEX 2021, which is held every two years, is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
AERTEC has had a sales office in Abu Dhabi for the past two years, from where it can attend to its different projects in the Middle East region with greater proximity.
This edition was very special as it was the first major defence sector event to be held in person since the coronavirus pandemic paralysed all types of specialised trade fairs. AERTEC did not miss this event, and IDEX was the first defence trade fair with which it resumed its international presence outside our borders. The Spanish technology company has been one of the 900 exhibitors of the 59 countries The exhibition has registered an outstanding number of visits, around 62,000 (according to the organisers).
AERTEC has had its own space where it has exhibited its products and services. TARSIS Fixed Wing UAS Defence Solutionswith a wingspan of more than 5m. and 75 kg MTOW, with integrated A-Fox air-to-ground laser-guided micromissiles and laser designation capability. All developed with proprietary technologydesigned and built to offer very important features in terms of payload and autonomy: up to 12 kg, and up to 12 hours, respectively, as well as up to 160 Kms of communications radius.
AERTEC's stand received numerous visits from official delegations such as the Spanish Ministry of Defence, led by the Admiral Director of DGAM, and Oficaex, the official delegation of the United Arab Emirates Army, representatives of the Emirati Minister of Defence and other countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as well as the main Emirati Defence companies.
AERTEC has had a commercial office in Abu Dhabi for the past two years, from where it can attend to its different projects in the Middle East and the commercial opportunities of a defence industry in the Emirati market with growth prospects.
