Henrí WerijDean of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft opened the event by saying: "It is important to facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing between different disciplines and sectors. This is essential to solve the great challenges of our society. The network we are building right now on our faculty is generating a lot of enthusiasm. I hope it will bring a lot to you and to our society".

A pre-incubator facility that acts as a link between researchers, students, startups and industry with the aim of driving innovation in the Aerospace sector.

Victor Rijkaart of GKN Fokker Aerospace in his speech added: "I am convinced that, by bringing together corporations, aerospace engineering students, startups, technology developers and scientists, it's a win-win for all involved. Startups are able to overcome challenges for existing companies. Students can validate their ambition to become an entrepreneur. The wisdom and ideas that are abundantly available on the TU Campus can be a source of innovation and inspiration for everyone involved."

During the event, eight of the innovators linked to the Aerospace Innovation Hub, namely PATS Indoor Drone Solutions, Genesis Space, LUMAN Aerospace, Dimple Aerospace, satsearch.co, Geronimo.AI, Flapper Drones and Wattlab, shared their projects. After the speeches, the participants chose a small group room (Zoom) to ask questions to the startups and the Aerospace Innovation Hub@TUD team. Antje BulmannIn his speech, Airbus BizLab manager Airbus BizLab spoke about the success factors of a startup: "A good startup always has its roots in a good team.. After five years of doing this, I can say: this team is it. What creates it is the mentality, the ambition and the vision.

Aerospace Innovation Hub@TUD is a pre-incubator facility which functions as a liaison between researchers, students, startups and industry with the aim of driving innovation in the Aerospace sector. "Aerospace may sound like a specific field of study, but the problems in aerospace that our startups are solving are versatile. This means that their solutions are applicable to all kinds of industries and applications," he says. Julia Radiuscommunity manager at the Aerospace Innovation Hub @TUD.

In-house coaching, conferences, workshops and events will be organised to inspire and stimulate interaction. Currently the events have to be virtual, but the hope is that they can soon take place in the new community room, "The Flighthouse" located on the 13th floor of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU Delft.
