Spanish Pluri-regional Operational Programme, State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation
2017 – 2020
New systems to support and assist manufacturing engineering
Aligned with the strategy of the Factories of the Future (FoF) European initiative, this project will develop technological solutions that use the information contained in PLM (Product LifeCycle Management) systems in real time via multiple virtual reality and augmented reality devices.
Special focus will be placed on assembly design, production and customer services, and on developing virtual reality training and learning for industrial processes.
The scope of the project also includes harnessing the advances made in VR and AR technologies to broaden the application of these technologies to areas of electrical manufacturing units with a low level of digitalisation, such as control unit manufacturing workstations or electrical completion and verification tasks.
Within this project, AERTEC is developing tools based on computer vision and augmented reality to assist operators and improve the efficiency of production processes in the assembly and verification of electrical components.
