In cooperation with SAES and EXPAL, AERTEC designed a system that makes it possible to launch a mine from the hold of an aircraft (C-295) without altering the design of the mine, so that it can continue to be launched from surface vessels or submarines.
The technical goal of the project was to develop and qualify a prototype of the Operational Unit in order to produce an operational underwater mine and its programmer.
In this project, AERTEC's overall aim was to design a system capable of launching/braking a mine from the hold of an aircraft, without altering the functional and physical characteristics of the mine, whilst still allowing the mine to be launched from a ship or submarine.
AERTEC carried out the conceptual design of the mine's launching and braking system, based on its impact with the water.
