“My colleagues are committed to what they do, conscientious in their work, and resourceful and intelligent when it comes to solving problems. They are also a close-knit and welcoming group, and we quickly became friends.”
I studied Aerospace Engineering and in my last year of my degree I already knew what I would like to do. I applied for a position at AERTEC related to MBD, which I particularly liked, as I had worked a lot on this subject throughout my degree, including modelling and analysing an AWES system using MATLAB and SIMULINK for my dissertation. I was lucky, they called me and we liked each other at the interview and I've been here ever since. I had never worked in the sector, but since I was a child I had been attracted by everything related to space, and that's why I decided to do Aerospace Engineering. It was the best decision.
The day I started working at AERTEC I was very excited. I had been researching the company when I applied for the position and I really liked it, and then at the interview that first impression took hold. Although I'm not shy at all, I was a bit nervous before I met the other colleagues, because I didn't know what they were going to be like, their age range or anything. But when I arrived everything was great, they were a great and very welcoming group and I felt at ease straight away. Also, as I expected, when I started with the projects I loved them. I adapted quickly and today I am proud to be a valuable member of my team.
I really like the fact that it is not a mechanical and repetitive job, I am always learning and solving new challenges. It allows me to apply knowledge from my degree, but it also forces me to learn new things and to develop myself in other fields.
I start by checking mail, internal messages and compiling what I did the day before, and from there I plan the day. Then we have the daily meeting where the whole team discusses the development of the projects. New things always come up during the day. All the team members are not on every project, but we all know the basics of each other, which allows us to help each other if there is a blockage.
They are involved in what they do, responsible with their tasks and with ingenuity and intelligence to solve problems. In addition, they are a close and welcoming group, with whom you easily make friends.
There is a good working environment and good conditions, allowing flexibility for teleworking. In addition, the work we do here is interesting and with a future perspective.
My great hobby is dancing, for which I have also studied since I was a child at the Conservatory of Seville. I also love nature (I am a scout group leader), extreme sports and travelling whenever I can.
