Project management services at 25 airports in the eastern, central and southern areas of Spain (2023 – present)
Our comprehensive project management service ensures the efficient execution of airport infrastructure projects, harnessing advanced technologies and expertise across the entire airport life cycle.
As part of a joint venture with other companies in our sector, AERTEC is executing three project management contracts for AENA with the aim of implementing the DORA II (Airport Regulation Document) plan in airports in the eastern, central and southern areas of Spain. This covers a total of 25 airports, most notably those of Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Seville and Alicante. This plan seeks to increase the capacity of the airports and improve the quality of their service, promoting traffic recovery, environmental sustainability and innovation.
During this four-year contract, a team of over 265 professionals will be deployed at the different airports. The service includes site management and control of direct investments in the airports.
AERTEC's project management methodologies and tools, based on the Project Management Institute’s best practices, allow us to provide detailed planning and monitoring, risk management and ongoing communication with stakeholders. Adopting the BIM methodology allows key information to be incorporated into all phases of the project, providing Aena with an invaluable tool for infrastructure operations.
The DORA II Plan seeks to modernise and improve the efficiency of airport operations through technology investments. As a specialist in aeronautical technology systems, AERTEC has provided support in the monitoring and management of initiatives and projects such as 5G technology, the SITIA system for smart apron lighting management, and the digitisation of check-in, security and boarding processes, thus improving the passenger experience. Another key aspect of the plan involves improving sustainability and energy efficiency, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of airport operations. Our project management team, which has been trained in BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), brings great added value to the project in this area.
