Client: LIMA Airport Partners S.R.L.
Master plans (2023)

AERTEC has been awarded the contract to update the Master Plan for Jorge Chávez International Airport, which serves the city of Lima (Peru). The airport is the main gateway to Peru and one of the most important hubs in South America, receiving approximately 22 million passengers per year..

The project consists of analysing the current state of the airport, assessing its capacity and growth potential, identifying areas for improvement and proposing a development plan for the next 30 years. AERTEC's work includes a comprehensive review of airport operations, infrastructure, air traffic management, safety and security.

The project is being carried out in conjunction with Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management and development consultancy with over 16,000 employees.

The Jorge Chávez International Airport Master Plan is designed to modernise and expand the airport's infrastructure to accommodate the projected growth in passenger traffic, build a new terminal, renovate an existing runway and add a new one. The airport will also be equipped with new commercial aprons, taxiways, approach systems and other facilities, such as a new control tower and fire fighting facilities.

The project also includes the development of several buildings, including a general aviation area, a cargo city area, an administrative area and an operation and maintenance area, among other things. The project guarantees the availability of electricity, water, sewerage, irrigation and telecommunications services for the current expansion as well as for future expansions of the project.

AERTEC's ability to deliver high-quality results in a short period of time has been instrumental in our successful completion of the Jorge Chávez International Airport Master Plan, in just six months. Additionally, AERTEC's partnership with Mott MacDonald has brought together a team of experts with a wide range of skills and knowledge, enabling us to address complex regulatory and contractual requirements. The previous master plan (2005) and AERTEC's experience in navigating the changing needs of the airport industry have been invaluable. Finally, AERTEC's experience in stakeholder management has helped to ensure that all parties involved in the project were kept informed and engaged throughout the process, resulting in a successful outcome.
