Period:
2022 – 2025
Area of innovation:
New technologies and architectures for sustainable systems
Project objectives
This is a Research and Development project that falls under “Major Strategic Projects” in the AERONAUTICS TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME for 2022.
The project is scheduled to last for 35 months, beginning in August 2022. It has a total approved budget of €24,577,919 and has been awarded a grant for €15,879,521.50.
The IRON NPE project aims to design and develop the architectures of new sustainable H2 systems that are capable of supplying auxiliary power to aircraft. It also seeks to develop a comprehensive ground testing facility that will allow the full range of tests necessary to qualify and test the new systems to be carried out.
AERTEC’s contribution
Within this project, AERTEC's activities are focused on designing, developing and validating an HVDC power distribution architecture that can potentially be integrated into an apron, with the support of the University of Malaga.
