AERTEC is heading the development of one of the first private Urban Air Mobility (UAM) initiatives in Spain, in the metropolitan area of Madrid, which specifically includes a vertiport.
The first phase consists of an in-depth review and the completion of a detailed business plan and financial model, including an assessment and forecast of all significant revenue streams, operating expenses and capital expenditures. A detailed market assessment has also been carried out to provide up-to-date information on the current state of development and expectations for vertiports worldwide, as well as their future prospects and the competitive landscape.
One specific challenge that we successfully overcame was to assess the current and short-term revenue streams that can be relied upon, until the relevant technologies are mature enough to accommodate and capitalise on eVTOL systems and urban air mobility systems in general.
The second phase involves handling all administrative and regulatory requirements with the relevant aviation authorities.
Finally, in the third phase, AERTEC delivers all the elements necessary for the planning and design of the project, until the new vertiport is fully operational.
