VIGÍA Project

Aeronautical wiring management system

Programme:

Smart Growth Operating Programme 2014-2020

Period:

2015 – 2017

Area of innovation:

Advanced interactive systems and remote support

Project objectives

Within the Factory of the Future framework and using industrial digital mock-ups (iDMU), AWIMAS aims to develop an electrical components model which supports wiring information, not only for isolated components but also as part of a system. This would allow us to analyse electrical continuity in the operation of one or more aircraft systems and even an entire aircraft, thereby ensuring that all electrical information is obtained in the digital mock-up.

Additionally, new data exploitation systems equipped with advanced functionalities – like augmented reality and mobility-based technologies – will be developed based on the information gathered by the iDMU so they can be used both in the manufacturing plant and on the aircraft.

AERTEC’s contribution

AERTEC worked with our partners in the following project activities:

  • Design and development of SW tools to analyse i-DMU data.
  • Development and validation of SW and HW data exploitation systems.

AERTEC developed the following demonstrators during the project:

  • Delta management platform.
  • Data exploitation system with lightweight viewers.
  • Interface to connect MATLAB to CATIA V5.
  • Wiring support using mixed reality (Hololens).
  • Pinning verification tool using augmented reality.
