Abu Dhabi Airports Company has selected AERTEC to be part of the Planning Framework Agreement. The General Planning Services cover each of the airports managed by ADAC: Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Airport, Delma Island Airport and Sir Bani Yas Island Airport. Furthermore, other airports inside or outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi may be included during the course of these consultancy services.

The scope of services within the agreed planning framework includes strategic studies: economic impact studies, market studies, business cases and traffic forecasts.

As part of the available planning services, AERTEC has already provided planning services through Work Order 1, where current and future land use requirements for all existing and planned activities and facilities at the East Midfield were assessed, including:

  • Cargo terminals
  • Future passenger terminals (satellites), including the underground APM system
  • Taxiways, aprons and waiting and support areas in the operations area
  • Airport support facilities
  • Maintenance, air navigation services, maintenance hangars, etc.
  • Freight forwarding facilities
  • Road network in the operations area
  • Road network on the landside
  • Security access points/Super gate in the ground/operations area
  • Inspection areas and customs access
  • Service corridors
  • Security zoning and critical facility security trade-offs, a strategy in which Abu Dhabi's aviation sector plays a leading role in the Emirate's Vision 2030
