Airport consultancy (2022)
AERTEC was contracted by AENA Internacional to provide airport consultancy services, to offer technical advice for the seventh round of airport concessions in Brazil. The scope of the project covered 11 airports, including Congonhas Airport, which handled over 22 million passengers in 2019.
The project was developed as part of a joint venture with a local company (Intertechne); together, the two companies brought all the expertise and experience required to provide real value to AENA in this consultancy work.
The consultancy services included a high-level master planning exercise to identify the investment required to meet the contract requirements and the expected passenger and aircraft demand, all in compliance with local and international regulations.
The following activities were carried out to prepare the consultancy reports; analysis of the current infrastructure, traffic forecasting - including passengers and aircraft configurations, capacity-demand analysis, analysis of alternatives, infrastructure development and capital expenditure forecasts and, finally, operating cost projections. An overview of all investments required for the concession period.
For this project, AERTEC worked in partnership with a local company called Intertechne. Both companies brought all the expertise and experience necessary to provide real value to the project. AERTEC was responsible for aviation-specific workflows, including airfield and terminal capacity and master planning, and also led the work on operating cost projections.
AERTEC prepared the necessary documents to help AENA International make the right choice in the concession award process, in accordance with the Brazilian RBAC and ANAC regulations and the requirements of the concession contract.
