Acquisition Control Unit (ACU) for FCAS

Client: ITP Aero / FCAS
Technology provider for the FCAS engine pillar / Phase 1B of the programme (2023-2026)

The Future Combat Air System (FCAS) is a high-tech European strategic project with an investment of 8 billion euros, which is expected to be operational by 2040. One of its pillars is the high-tech military fighter jet being jointly developed by Spain, France and Germany, which is in phase 1B of the programme. This stage includes pillar 2: engines. AERTEC has joined this phase as a technology provider.

AERTEC has extensive experience in the design, manufacture and certification of onboard systems, more specifically in control computers for various critical applications and subsystems and smart data concentrator units.

AERTEC and ITP are working to design and manufacture prototypes to validate new technological developments related to engine control systems, with particular focus on the special requirements of their operating environment.

AERTEC's know-how and development of proprietary technology, combined with our efficient management of project risks, allow us to anticipate these risks and develop reliable solutions. The greatest challenge of this project was to implement these systems in an engine with new components, new cooling techniques and designed to perform under extreme environmental conditions.

AERTEC is one of the few Spanish companies that specialises in the development of innovative onboard systems. We are able to manage the whole cycle of this equipment, from the design and rapid development of prototypes to their certification and industrialisation.

We are also involved in other pillars of the FCAS programme, and in other civil and defence programmes such as the A400M, A350, A330MRTT and EURODRON, among others.
