TARSIS 75 in the RAPAZ programme

The UAS TARSIS 75 successfully completed the last operational evaluation in the framework of the Rapacious Programme, The campaign, promoted by the Directorate General of Armaments and Materials (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defence, was conducted by the Ministry of Defence's Directorate General of Armaments and Materials (DGAM). During this flight campaign for the Spanish Army range and height capabilities were certified of this all-carbon fibre fixed-wing platform, by exceeding the 75 kms. away and over 14,000 ft. above sea level in difficult terrain. The TARSIS 75 had previously exceeded these distances in Spain at the INTA Arenosillo facility, although the capacities are 150 kms.

In the last TARSIS operational evaluation campaign for the RAPAZ programme, the distance of 75 km and the altitude of over 14,000 feet in difficult terrain were exceeded.

These tests, carried out at the Conde de Gazola Army Base in the province of León, also served to verify the modifications to the aircraft and the ground control station, at the request of the DGAM and the Spanish Army and Air Force, and the performance of the TARSIS 75, such as fire support system, including target identification and fire correction.

The Spanish Ministry of Defence launched the Rapaz Project in 2016 with the aim of evaluating proposals for Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS) weighing less than 150 kg for future procurement by the Armed Forces. AERTEC's UAS TARSIS 75 has since then successfully completed 4 campaigns within the framework of this programme, demonstrating the high technological performance of this light tactical UAS intended, inter alia, for observation and surveillance applications.

Also within the framework of the Rapaz Programme, the TARSIS 75 demonstrated its capabilities for the Spanish Air Force as a possible training aircraft for the Unmanned Aerial Systems School at the Matacán air base (Salamanca), together with the functionalities of AERTEC's uAS simulator.

The TARSIS 75 is a Class I UAS system with high operational performance, specifically designed and built to deliver two very important variables: a high payload integration capacity (over 12 kg) and long flight time (up to 12 hours). With these capabilities, the system has broad configuration flexibility to adapt to the vast majority of operating environments, including highly complex ones.
