The Pabellón de la Navegación de la Isla de La Cartuja, in Seville, hosted the 15th Alas Awards Ceremony for the Internationalisation of Andalusian Companies, organised by the Andalusian Business Association for the Internationalisation of Andalusian Companies. Extenda-Andalucía Exports and Foreign Investment, and in which several Andalusian companies were recognised as having stood out in the last year for both their internationalisation process and their export activity..
AERTEC, an international company specialising in aerospace technology, received the award in the category of ‘Aerospace Technology'.‘External Implantation’It is the first aeronautical technology company to receive an award in this category since the Alas Awards were first organised. Its founders, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón and Vicente Padilla, received the award from the President of the Andalusian Confederation of Entrepreneurs, CEA.
The main objective of the Alas Awards is to recognise the work of Andalusian companies and organisations in international markets, which in the case of Aertec represent 40% of its turnover.
Since these aeronautical engineers founded the company in Malaga in 1997, its growth trajectory has always gone hand in hand with its internationalisation process. “Our company was born with international vocation, Today, we can work anywhere in the world, thanks in large part to our ability to develop proprietary technology”Antonio Gómez-Guillamón emphasises.
Since winning its first international contract at Luton Airport in the United Kingdom in 2001, AERTEC's overseas expansion plan has been consolidated over the last 20 years and now has subsidiaries and registered companies in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Colombia, Peru, the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
This resolute international vocation has enabled the company to achieve a foreign business volume that already represents 40% of its turnover, where the development of aerospace systems and, increasingly, of its TARSIS unmanned aerial platforms plays a major role.
In the words of Vicente Padilla, “looking back, it is easy to understand that internationalisation has been key to growth over the last two decades. This award is an acknowledgement to our entire team, The AERTEC brand has been recognised in such a global market as the aerospace industry”.
