The recent Covid-19 crisis and how the outbreak of a disease that started in a city of which we had little or no knowledge became a global health problem. So it shows us that it is essential to to work to ensure that both Spain and Europe have sufficient autonomy and capacity to deal effectively with these and similar challenges that our industry will face in the next decade.

The defence and security industry sector continues to maintain its leadership in terms of innovation and knowledge generation to many other industrial sectors. Such an advanced, productive industry, which generates qualified employment and creates the Spain brand, can only occupy a prominent place in FEINDEF 2021The leading event in our industry.
In its first edition a little more than two years ago, the International Defence and Security Fair successfully concluded three days in which more than 156 exhibitors from 12 different countries gathered. In 2021, we will be part of how IFEMA will once again open its doors to welcome the main players in the world of defence, security, aeronautics and space, doubling their numbers by expecting more than 300 exhibitors spread over 28,000 square metres on this occasion.
The international character of FEINDEF will be reinforced not only by the participation of 53 international exhibitors to date, but also by the institutional support it is receiving both at home and abroad.
It is no coincidence that FEINDEF is currently positioned as the world's leading one of Europe's leading Defence and Security trade fairs despite its short existence. The work carried out in different areas is exceptional and will mark the future of the fair. However, now is not the time to be content with what has been achieved, but rather to raise the visibility of our industry throughout the world.
This new edition on 3, 4 and 5 November 2021 will take another step towards the consolidation of our fair as a world reference, providing a unique space in which experts from the Defence, Security, Aeronautics and Space industries of the world will meet for the exchange and proactive debate of actions that help to build a leading Europe that has the necessary sovereignty in those fields that are strategic for our society.
