Airport technology (2017-present)
In an airport there are many events related to passengers that are not taken into account by any system. The capture and analysis of these events provides relevant information to the airport and to passengers.
ATIKA (Airport Touchscreen Information Kiosk Assistant) is a multi-device system that captures this data and translates it into customised, interactive information in real time, allowing the passenger to decide when to interact with the system and with which device.
ATIKA improves the passenger’s travel experience and helps the airport to improve its performance:
Improving the passenger experience
> Interactive video call:
The passenger’s query is answered remotely, and the operator can show images, write text and even draw on the screen the passenger is viewing.
> Notifications:
Passengers receive useful information personalised according to where they are (via SMS, WhatsApp, etc.). They can also receive augmented reality assistance.
> Airport information:
Enhanced information about the airport in real time (flights, shops, bars, restaurants, etc.).
> Information about the city:
Useful information about the city the passenger is travelling to or from: transport services, tourist services, museums, sporting events, etc.
> Persons with reduced mobility (PRM):
ATIKA incorporates various technologies to guide passengers with physical or intellectual disabilities. It is based on special QR codes that, once scanned by a mobile device, guide the passenger to his or her destination using vibrations and sounds.
Continuous improvement for the airport
> Balanced scorecard (BSC):
Real-time system overview including historical data to assist in decision-making.
> Business Intelligence (BI):
BI collects, processes and analyses information from different sources, in order to add value to the different airport processes by means of customised reports.
> Passenger tracking:
The system tracks passengers during their stay at the airport without the need for them to download any application. It can also anticipate concentrations, movements of people or unusual needs, allowing you to take preventive action to improve your service.
> Operations and capacity planning:
ATIKA can validate passenger flow plans created using real airport data. It is also possible to measure the efficiency of queue and crowd management, which helps with investment planning.
