Manufacturing engineering
Planning and production control
Date: 2007
Client: AIRBUS Defense & Space
Scope of services:
¬ Extensive analysis of both assembly line process activities and activities in other phases of the programme that may affect the FAL. Other restrictions inherent to the process (sequence of activities, material resources, costs, calendars etc.) were also taken into account.
¬ Using the information obtained from the initial analysis, a masterplan of activities for each of the workstations that make up the A400M final assembly line was produced. This plan was calculated in function of lead time and human resources assigned.
¬ Specific tools for the management of the control panel and efficiency indicators (OEE), were employed in order to ensure traceability and monitoring of these activities.
¬ Prior to the definition of these tools, all the relevant A400M FAL operational planning processes were standardised in accordance with improvement criteria based on the Lean concept. The aim of this activity was to optimise costs and implementation time in the client’s ERP systems.
¬ Once the processes that add value to operational planning activities had been identified, the management tools were defined, developed and implemented
