On 20 December 2010, a group of engineers, pilots, doctors, journalists, crew members, photographers and aviation enthusiasts completed the process of creating the Spanish Aeronautical Society <\/strong>(SAE<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The Casa de Am\u00e9rica<\/strong> hosted the public presentation of the initiative, which arose from the concerns felt when comparing the national situation with the high presence of aeronautics in our neighbouring societies.<\/p>\n

The national aeronautical community, its professionals and companies, has built and operated world-class infrastructures, aircraft and gyroplanes, created transport systems, designed satellites and rockets, advances that Spanish society should be aware of and value because of their current importance and commitment to the future.<\/p>\n

To this end, during these ten years of the SAE's existence, there have been many promotional events, book presentations and other events. However, the conferences, either in person or by video, on aeronautical, historical or current affairs topics have covered a very important part of our activity.<\/p>\n

Current issues such as those related to the ash crisis following the eruption of the Icelandic volcano in 2010, or the one held on the Iberia-British Airways merger, were widely followed. In addition to those dedicated to the exploitation of space, suborbital transport, airports in Spain, the Single Sky initiative, the national industry, air transport in Spain, the EU's SESAR programme or seaplanes, and those dedicated to children in the \u201cMonth of the Air\u201d cycle.<\/p>\n

More recently, in February 2020, we addressed the issue of environmental taxation in the air transport mode in the cycle on air transport and climate change, with the invaluable contribution and collaboration of Andersen, Tax and Legal, the airline association ALA and AESA.<\/p>\n

This whole panoply of activities would not have been possible without the support of our partners and supporters, but also of the numerous organisations listed below: Airbus, Boeing, Vueling, Iberia, Aena, Aprocta, CabAm\u00e9rica, FlyNews, Indra, Sepla, National Geographic, EasyJet, Isdefe, Asetma, Air Europa, Ministerio de Fomento, Fundaci\u00f3n Aeron\u00e1utica Mallorquina, Ronald McDonald House Charities, COIAE, Aeromuseo M\u00e1laga, Pangea, Fundaci\u00f3n Aladina, ETSIAE, Everis, Fundaci\u00f3n Infante de Orleans, Royal Aeronautical Society and Real Academia de Ingenier\u00eda.<\/p>\n
