Clustering arrived strongly in Mexico in the early 2010s, as a way of to successfully identify the most dynamic, productive sectors with the greatest economic value<\/strong>. The aerospace sector was no exception. Since the late 80s, Michael Porter, in his book \u00abThe Competitive Advantage of Nations,\u00bb spoke of this clearly identified phenomenon as an ecosystem that allowed Scale and enhance<\/strong> to all its agents, bringing about a transformative change in its participants, and supported by the triple helix (government, academia, and industry). Only by experiencing it can one affirm that the economic model works.<\/p>\n

With more than five decades and a well-earned strength and reputation, Baja California continues to be the benchmark for the aerospace industry in Mexico.<\/h5>\n

These economic dynamics generally arise through market forces and conditions, which find a favourable environment for their success. This process began in 1966 in Baja California in the aerospace sector<\/strong> due to its proximity to one of the most prosperous economies, such as the state of California in the United States. The city of San Diego and the entire western corridor up to Seattle, Washington, in the north, is one of the most important aerospace regions in the world, and Baja California is part of that enclave.<\/p>\n

With over five decades and a well-earned strength and reputation, Baja California continues to be the benchmark for the aerospace industry in Mexico<\/strong> with over 200 companies, educational institutions and research centres, which converge collaboratively across six business segments:<\/p>\n

  3. Space<\/li>\n
  4. Drones<\/li>\n
  5. MRO\/R&O<\/li>\n
  6. Air Cargo Logistics<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In 2019, this industry alone in the state of Baja California exported over 2.5 billion dollars and generated more than 37,000 direct jobs in the same year.<\/p>\n

    The Baja California Aerospace Cluster<\/strong>, Having already been established as a civil organisation, with alliances, projects and initiatives with the United States, Russia, France, Colombia, Brazil and other regions in Mexico, it proactively supports the development of suppliers to strengthen the established industry in the region, and to develop, together with schools, the talent that the industry needs to successfully participate in projects of greater complexity and value for the benefit of our community.<\/p>\n

    Because it is the jewel that best represents in each of its facets what is done well, and with great pride, in Mexico. It is the northernmost corner of our country and it is where a hybrid of talented people converge, making it a unique region.<\/p>\n
