The tests were carried out on 3 and 4 October at the Conde de Gazola Army Base, in the province of León. The unit responsible for the operational evaluation was the Information and Location Artillery Group (GAIL) II/63, belonging to the 63rd Field Rocket Artillery Regiment.

AERTEC's TARSIS 75 RPAS carries out operational evaluation as part of the Spanish Ministry of Defence's Rapaz Programme.

During the flight campaign, they demonstrated the TARSIS 75 features, A Class 1 (SMALL) fixed-wing RPAS with a structure entirely produced from carbon fibre. It has a maximum take-off weight of 74.5 Kg, a nominal endurance of 8 hours with a cruising speed of 100 km/h, and can carry up to 12 Kg of payload in two fuselage locations plus rigid underwing hardpoints. These tests also served to demonstrate some of its Information acquisition and surveillance functionalities, using the sensors integrated into the aerial platform, as part of the evaluation programme.

The complete system consists of the aerial platform, the ground control station containing two consoles (for the platform operator and the payload operator), and the ground communications station. It can be supplemented with a catapult and a weather station. Due to its take-off size and weight, it normally operates from a runway, although it can be launched via catapult and perform emergency recovery using a parachute.

The AERTEC TARSIS 75 RPAS It is the largest and heaviest system. This operational evaluation of the Rapaz Programme, an initiative driven by the Directorate General of Armament and Material (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defence, has so far exceeded expectations. The project aims to evaluate proposals for Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) weighing less than 150 kg, for future acquisitions by the Armed Forces.

The company AERTEC has the TARSIS 75 and TARSIS 25 in its UAV catalogue. Both systems have been developed and entirely produced by Spanish international engineering, making them the only systems of their kind developed in Spain by a company with 100% Spanish capital. AERTEC Solutions is the Design Authority for the TARSIS system, which means it can be rapidly adapted to each user’s requirements, integrating the necessary payload to meet the operator’s needs at any given time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: References to texts and graphic content relating to the TARSIS solution are merely reviews of the historical trajectory of projects carried out by AERTEC in the past.
