PASSARO Project

Innovative structural and functional testing capabilities for aerostructures

Programme:

Clean Sky II

Period:

2016 – 2021

Area of innovation:

Intensive digitalisation of testing processes in aeronautical manufacturing and assembly environments

Project objectives

This PASSARO project is funded through the Clean Sky 2 Programme, under topic JTI-CS2-2015-CPW02-AIR-02-06 “Airframe on-ground structural and functional tests of advanced structures”. Using representative cabin and wing aerostructure prototypes, it aims to demonstrate the applicability of a set of innovative technologies in the design, manufacturing and on-ground testing stages.

AERTEC’s contribution

AERTEC is performing the following activities in the PASSARO project:

Development of miniaturised and versatile aircraft interface modules (AIM), integrating the computer-aided test system (CATS) with SAP and the industrial digital mock-up (iDMU).

Development of onboard system testing systems.

Development of test automation technologies for aircraft computers.

Partners:

This project receives funding from the Clean Sky 2 joint programme, as part of the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, under grant agreement no. CS2-AIR-GAM-2014-2015-01.
