Infographic / Aircraft Black Boxes

Despite the fact that most of us have never seen them, the black boxes are usually one of the internal elements of an aircraft that we are most familiar with. They are not just the witness to any type of aircraft incident, but also a key part in improving the way flight procedures are designed. Without doubt they are one of the most important inventions in aviation safety history, and in actual fact, they almost didn’t exist. They were initially presented to the Australian aviation authorities who believed they would be of no use and would cause problems among pilots.

Fortunately, it didn’t turn out that way in the end. A few years after they were invented they were incorporated into all civil aircraft. They become compulsory.

In this infographic we will tell you all about some of their characteristics along with some of the other most relevant curiosities about the black boxes. We hope you enjoy it.
